Welcome! Welcome to the International Studies Program at West Virginia University. The program's curriculum provides knowledge of international politics, helps in developing an understanding of foreign cultures, and promotes the informed analysis of globalization and interdependence. The program establishes the basis for careers in international administration, business and commerce, government service, law, and policy analysis. With over two hundred majors, it is now one of the fastest growing majors in the WVU Eberly College of Arts and Sciences. Intelligence and National Security AOE A new "area of emphasis" has been formally added to the I.S. major in "Intelligence and National Security". Its curriculum is based around four newly approved courses: two professionally oriented courses in intelligence analysis and methods and two theoretical courses in foreign policy analysis. These four courses, along with advanced foreign language, offer a well-focused undergraduate background for intelligence careers in the national security community.
