The Institute for Public Affairs co-sponsors, with the West Virginia State Legislature, a series of presentations and workshops on state policies for members of the state legislature during the legislature's interim meetings, and during the state legislative session. The highlight of the series is the annual presentation on the current status and future trends of the West Virginia economy by Drs. George Hammond and Tom Witt from WVU's Bureau of Business and Economic Research. Other highly publicized presentations have included the implications of welfare reform for the state, the state's juvenvile justice system, and West Virginia's infrastructure.
