WebTexts

In order to promote innovative uses of the World Wide Web for teaching, PSWEB-L is initiating and sponsoring a number of what can best be described as WebTexts. A Political Science WebText is a collection of multiple-authored Web pages covering a broad set of material that is conventionally taught in a basic course in Political Science. In the early stages it will be a set of supplementary readings produced by a variety of scholars and available via the WWW, with the idea of becoming a vehicle for providing complete text materials over the next few years. The material provided in these WebTexts is a compendium of short sections on specific sub topics.  The material is organized topically by a Table of Contents.  Multiple approaches to the same topics, as well as different levels of exposition (from intro course to Ph.D. level) may be included in the same WebText.  The instructor will eventually be able to assemble a text  at whatever level is desired, by picking and choosing the desired topics, and preferred treatment of such topics, from the menu.

Participation is open to the discipline.

This page is in an early draft stage at the moment, but if you have strayed into it and are intrigued, please e-mail me and let me know your interests.
